Pretty & Functional Kitchen Organisation - My Clear Jar Solution

The kitchen is the heart and soul of our home. It’s where we all gather together for daily dinners, family occasions, birthday’s, parties and entertaining. It’s where people spend most of their time together when at home.

Therefore, the kitchen should be a happy place and at Your Home Story - a happy place is a well-organised space. So today we would like to share with you one of the easiest ways to get your kitchen organised and as a bonus, look beautiful at the same time.

In most homes spices, loose and dry products usually go straight to the cupboards in the bags or packs they come in from the supermarket. This is bad for organisation because this packaging comes in all different shapes and sizes. The outcome is it makes our kitchen and cupbords look and feel like a mess. So let’s figure it out!

Our favourite and the most cost-effective way to organise these products is putting them in clear glass jars and labelling them.

To show you what I mean, let’s look at an example from my kitchen. I have 3 different sizes of containers. One for larger items like pasta, biscuits and flour. Medium sized jars for snacks like nuts and sugar, and then a load of small jars that I put my spices into.

Because I went though the trial and error of getting it right. My top tip before ordering any jars is to measure the gaps between your shelves and spaces to make sure you're ordering the right size jars and that they will all fit.

In the table below, we've got you some big jars, medium jars and spice jars. The big jars work for oats, biscuits, flour or pasta. The medium jars work for nuts and sugar. The spice jars the perfect replacement for store bought spice jars.

Now that we have the right selection of jars for all your goods in the kitchen, let’s talk about how to label the jars.

There are a huge variety different sticker designs avaliable, the options really are endless! So to save you the trouble of trying to pick a design, we picked out a few of our favourites that you can see below in the table.
